Brock Osweiler - QB - Browns

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Browns are considering releasing Brock Osweiler.
This report comes just 20 minutes after the Browns acquired Osweiler from Houston in a bombshell trade nobody saw coming. Now there's a good chance Osweiler will never play a down for Cleveland as the Browns will simply absorb his $16 million salary and move on. Cleveland has all the cap space in the world so the $16 million hit isn't a big deterrent. Perhaps the Browns will package their first-round pick with the 2018 second-rounder they just received from Houston in a trade for Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

Nate Allen - DB - Free Agent
Free agent S Nate Allen is visiting the Dolphins on Friday.
Signed to a "four-year" deal by the Raiders in 2015, Allen played just 459 snaps for Oakland the past two seasons as he battled injuries and ineffectiveness. The Dolphins are looking for a replacement for Isa Abdul-Quddus.

Jay Cutler - QB - Free Agent
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there's mutual interest between the Jets and free agent Jay Cutler.
With only a few openings at quarterback around the league, it was only a matter of time until the Jets were linked to Cutler. The 33-year-old isn't a long-term fix, but he'd be a satisfactory one or two-year bridge before the Jets turn the offense over to a young franchise quarterback. The Jets could also be in the mix for Trevor Siemian if the Broncos make him available. It would also makes sense for the Jets to kick the tires on Colin Kaepernick at some point.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns are "trying to shop" Brock Osweiler.
Emphasis on trying. There's been lots of conjecture on what the Browns plan to do with their newly-acquired piece of bad debt, but it doesn't seem like they will give it a chance to start. Osweiler is likely to either be released or dealt. The smart money is on released, making Osweiler a true NBA acquire-and-buyout acquisition.

Appearing on 97.1 in Columbus, Ohio, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Browns won't be acquiring Jimmy Garopppolo no matter what they offer the Patriots.
Schefter added it's not about the Browns' offer; it simply sounds like the Patriots intend to hold onto their promising backup. The Browns have been stockpiling draft picks, potentially as a way to seduce the Patriots into giving them Garoppolo, but it apparently isn't going to work. Another team that was interested in Garoppolo, the Bears, have already moved onto Mike Glennon as their starter. The Browns will need to explore other avenues in their quest for a franchise passer.

Jets could be a landing spot for Robert Griffin III

Beggars can’t be choosers, so Robert Griffin III would surely be interested in any team that’s interested in him. Cut by the Browns today, Griffin is a free agent, and there are surely not many teams that would bring him in for anything more than a low-salary backup’s money.

So the news from NJ.com that Griffin is intrigued by the Jets shouldn’t come as any surprise. Griffin would be intrigued by anyone who needs a quarterback, and the Jets — with only Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg under contract — may be the most quarterback-needy team in the NFL right now.

The Jets may be the team that makes the most sense for Griffin: He visited them last year before signing with the Browns, so there has already been some mutual interest expressed. And they’re surely planning to sign someone with some starting experience. Griffin is probably the cheapest option.

Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick are among the other free agent quarterbacks who have been mentioned as possibilities for the Jets. At this point, they’re both probably better quarterbacks than Griffin, but they’re also probably both going to be more expensive. If the Jets are looking to rebuild on the cheap this year, Griffin could be their man.

Fluker has largely underachieved as the 11th overall pick in the 2013 draft, but he offers tackle-guard flexibility and is only 26 years old. At very worst, he could be a useful swing reserve in New York or Foxboro.
