"slammed the door shut" on adding
another quarterback to replace David
Garrard.
The free-agent market is barren, but one
name that sticks out is Trent Edwards.
Edwards was with new Jets OC Marty
Mornhinweg in Philadelphia last season.
Including the preseason, the 29-year-old
completed over 68 percent of his passes
and threw for four touchdowns. Edwards
wouldn't be an option to start, but he
knows the offense and could hold the
clipboard for Geno Smith if the Jets are
intent on dumping Mark Sanchez.





The Eagles have been working WR Jason
Avant at defensive back.
Coach Chip Kelly is certainly putting his
stamp on the team. We already
mentioned how TE Clay Harbor was
dabbling at outside linebacker. Avant set
a career-high with 53 catches last season,
but he's nothing more than a middling
slot talent with no big-play ability. The
Eagles traded for Arrelious Benn, and
Avant might be on the outside looking in
at the 53-man roster.

Long previously reported that Gabbert "continues to struggle with short passes," and we also know that general manager Dave Caldwell will spend "much of the year" evaluating college passers. Gabbert has a chance to prove everyone wrong, but barring a miracle campaign, it probably doesn't matter who starts in 2013. Advantage: Gabbert.

2. Raiders: Matt Flynn vs. Terrelle Pryor vs. Tyler Wilson

Flynn -- one season removed from losing his job to Russell Wilson -- is back on his heels again. Tyler Wilson impressed the Raiders last week, with former NFL scout Dan Shonka noting that the rookie put on a show. Shonka playfully suggested that those in proximity should "keep Flynn away from sharp objects." (At least we think that was playful.) Pryor, meanwhile, flies under the radar. As it stands, I don't see Flynn sitting Week 1. Advantage: Flynn.

3. Eagles: Michael Vick vs. Nick Foles vs. Matt Barkley

Michael Vick last week called his critics a pack of ignorants who "know nothing about football," but here's what we do know: The 32-year-old quarterback was a goner in Philly before Chip Kelly replaced Andy Reid. Now Vick looms as the logical starter heading into camp. Vick admits that Kelly recently "taught" him how to properly hold the football while running with it. For real. It's pretty clear Kelly is digging in. Foles, meanwhile, showed growth last season, and Barkley -- a seemingly odd fit for the Eagles -- has an outside chance for snaps. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly use all three. Advantage: Vick.

Sto se tice Jaguara, ne znam... Prosle godine su bili nesto bolji kada je Henne igrao. Mada tamo sve zavisi od MJD-a, koji ce ove godine valjda igrati i trenirati

Gabbert je gotov odavno, jedini razlog sto ce igrati ove god je to sto Jax hoce N1 pik

Ako Kelly sklopi kockice, Fila moze da bude totalno iznenadjenje sezone... Kao Majami sa wildcat-om pre par godina... Ima sve sto mu je potrebno, ojacan OL, pokretljivog QB-a, trkaca koji ume i da hvata, brze hvatace... Bas me zanima kako ce to sve izgledati...
